Directions

What a delectable culinary comfort. Delicious hot or cold, you can whip up these tasty morsels in no time.  Hallelujah for life’s simple pleasures!
  1. Preheat the oven 180°C (350°F), Gas Mark 4. Grease a shallow 18cm (7in) cake tin. Square or round, as you please. Melt the butter with the sugar and syrup in a pan over a low heat. When it’s blended, pour the mixture over the oats in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly, then spoon and scrape the mixture into your prepared tin and press firmly.
  2. Bake the flapjacks for 20 minutes flat. When they turn golden brown, take them out and allow them to cool just a little. Knife in hand, carve them into slices or fingers and loosen the edges around the tin. When set, remove them from the tin and cool on a wire rack.
  3. Time to serve. If you feel like sharing, good on you. If you don’t, well you are only human!
